Tricks
Trainers may use targets, target sticks
or props.
Tricks Level 1
The dog must demonstrate one from the
following list and repeat three times:
rollover, paw wave, face wipe, a
bow, a beg, a bark
or a simple trick with the
prior approval of the Assessor
Tricks Level 2
The dog must demonstrate 2 from the
following list and repeat each three times:
rollover each way
playing dead
paw wave with each foot
jump in the air
paw wave with both feet
simultaneously
rest head on an object
stand on back legs
or a trick with the prior approval
of the Assessor
Tricks Level 3
The dog must demonstrate 2 from the
following list and repeat each three times:
go to bed (target) and lay down
with head on object or pull blanket around
walk on back legs for 1m
jump in the air holding a prop
or a combination of any 2
behaviours one from Level 1 and one from Level 2
or a combination of 3-4 tricks with
the prior approval of the Assessor
Tricks Level 4
The dog must be able to demonstrate 4 of
the above tricks, 2 of which must be at more than 2m and repeat
each three times
Tricks Level 5
The dog must demonstrate a short story
with a series of tricks over one minute. The tricks can include
any of the above and/or tricks of the trainer's choice.
Additional elements such as props, costume or music should be
included and the dog may interact with the trainer.
Tricks Level 6
Both dog and trainer must entertain for 2
minutes, demonstrating a good range of tricks, interaction, use
of props and distance. Additional theatrical elements can be
included, such as a story teller, music or special effects.
